Update

I have a new post that should be ready tomorrow. I did not want anyone to take the delay in posting to mean that there is a serious problem with Eden.

In fact, she is slowly gaining weight and her last round of blood work looked better. She’s nursing pretty constantly which is — quite literally — sucking the life out of me. I am eating bland complex carbs and drinking tons of mother’s milk tea.

More tomorrow.

  • glad to hear all is looking up.

  • Kate from Atlanta burbs

    Whew! I was gettin’ worried!

  • yay! i missed you :)

  • I’m on the bland diet, too… here’s a yummy meal I’ve been eating a lot of: sauteed grated sweet potato and portobello mushroom with avocado in a rice tortilla… and the rest of the family has it with cheese as a yummy quesadilla. Also, rice noodles with (boneless skinless wild) salmon, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, dill, basil…. just in case you’re getting crazy-bored with the few things you can eat! Any ideas for me? Glad little Eden is gaining! Drink that tea, Mama!

  • Thanks for the mini-update. I was worried. Praying for you guys!

  • Glad to hear the family is doing well… but please don’t feel pressure to post. While we all love to hear from you, your job now is to take care of yourself and your family. We can wait!!! Take care and stay healthy.

  • Did they rule out pyloric stenosis?

  • Oh, and if you want a big size box of the Mothers Milk tea, email me… I’ll send it to you as a “welcome baby” gift ;)

  • I’m so glad she’s better. SO SO SO GLAD.

  • Thanks for the update – I’m glad to hear that things are looking better.

  • I know you do not owe me *any* updates, but I *do* worry. I keep checking your twitter feed and your site to make sure all is right with the world.

You both are quite the fighters. (I’m searching for a martini-flavored bagel for you; I’ll let you know what I find.)

  • =)

How weird is it to have an army of strangers who send worried emails when you don’t blog regularly?

I was a little worried, to tell the truth, and it’s beyond kind of you to think of us when you’re going through something so stressful. Glad she’s getting better, and sorry about the diet. Maybe you could have crumpets, as a break from bagels?

  • Honestly I was not worried cause I know she is gonna get better and everything is gonna be OK. Just do what I do when something bad happens, I focus on some minor bad stuff and then the big stuff is less maddening.

  • So glad to hear you haven’t been absent because of something seriously wrong. I know (believe me, I know!) you have far more important things to do than blog, and I know you’re incredibly busy, but your mini-update definitely helped set a lot of people’s minds at ease.

  • Glad to hear things are going well.

  • Thanks for the quick update! Was getting worried….

  • Glad to hear that *all* is/are improving!

  • Hey, Just wanted to let you know that your site isn’t loading properly on my iPhone. Do you know if there’s some setting I need to use to make it show properly? Everything is out of line.
