One year

“Congratulations,” I said to Ellie, on the first anniversary of her sobriety. “I think you’re awesome.”

“Thanks. It’s really a strange thing to celebrate. But I’m milking it. ‘Hey, I can stand upright and I’m aware of what’s going on, give me presents!‘”

“I feel morally obligated to blog that.”

“I totally understand.”

    congratulations Ellie ! It is a sweet thing to think about, that your little family now has a sober, whole momma. . . I often joke about needing a drink as a mom (I don’t imbibe at all, ever). I am kidding most of the time when I make those jokes. Most of the time. . .
