Scanning the Internet, looking for Ren; eyeing scorpion lolipops

I can’t believe they actually make lolipops with dead scorpions embedded in them.

And extra points if anyone can spot Ren on a Japanese blog.

Ok, the photograph thing. We had a recent trip to a botanical garden and my oldest girl (blonde, blue eyed beauty) was getting photographed by this Japanese tourist. He was literally down on the ground shooting up (thank goodness she was wearing jeans!) asking her to pose..I’m not kidding. I was distracted by the twins and didn’t realize what was happening until Jewel told me. I looked over and I was like: WHAT? I hustled her away. Seriously. Can anyone explain this phenomenon? I’m flummoxed.

Oh, Liz! If I had known you were in my city I would have swarmed you at the zoo with a copy of your book to sign! (So probably a good thing I didn’t). It is always so incredible to listen to someone describe where you live.

When we visited Muir Woods in California, Japanese tourists took photos with our sons. I dunno, I’m not really bothered by it. They were so sweet to the boys, almost like a long-lost relative that is proud to be in a picture with them rather than someone we don’t know.

OH. MY. GAWWWWWD!!! I was in Co. Springs last week! 6/10 thru 6/14! When were you there! What if we drove by each other!? What if walked past each other in the massive-ness that is the Denver airport?! WHAT IF YOUR RELATIVES LIVE BY MINE.

“I wonder if she is using the same wind that we are using??” — What if we were in the airport at the same time? Were you near Starbucks? ’cause I was totally there. Any Starbucks. In the state. I was there.

Maybe our RELATIVES ARE FRIENDS AND THIS ENTIRE TIME WE DIDN’T KNOW IT???

I considered hosting a book signing or something and then realized, “Um, hello? High altitude two children four days? — You have enough going on.”

Julie, drop me a note and I’ll tell you where to send the book. I’m happy to sign it. I owe books to Amanda and Sarah, too, and one other person. I actually had to order copies which have come in so I’ll get those out soon.

Ellie’s way better about that than I am.

yeah. I just flew with my 14 month old, my three year old and get this, my husbands 88 year old grandmother. I would say that the worst moment of the trip was when the winds kicked up in El Paso and blew grandma over - seriously, we turned around and she was on the ground. But she’s, you know, really little - it was bound to happen at some point on the trip, right? Luckily and amazing ok. my husband looked at me fodly and said, remember when we used to read books on a plane???? Now it’s magna doodle, crayons, and (thankfully) the Curious George video! Oh yeah and grandma.
